Wix Studio has four plans, from $12 to $149 a month billed yearly, plus a custom Enterprise plan. The cheapest can’t take payments, and beyond that the right plan comes down to three numbers: CMS items, collaborators and storage.

From year two, the domain renews at Wix’s price and the plan renews at whatever Wix charges then. If you build the site yourself, the design line drops out, but Studio takes longer to learn than the regular Wix Editor. Our comparison of the three Wix editors covers when that’s worth it.

Basic can’t take payments
If the site sells anything, takes deposits or charges for bookings, Standard is the lowest plan that works.
The free domain has conditions
Most yearly plans include a voucher for one year: first Studio plan only, redeemed within 60 days, for a new domain bought from Wix.
You can get your money back
Your first Studio plan can be cancelled within 14 days for a full refund.
A regular Wix plan doesn’t move across as it is
A Wix Editor plan has to be upgraded to a Studio plan of equal or higher level. Wix credits the unused time on the old plan.
Your client can pay Wix directly
A Wix Partner can send a payment request, so the client buys the plan and manages renewals themselves.
Your price may differ
Wix sets prices by country, adds tax by billing address, and charges more for monthly billing.

Studio vs regular Wix plans.
Studio isn’t the expensive option on plan price. At each level, the Studio plan is listed lower than the matching regular Wix plan: $12 against $17, $20 against $29, $32 against $39 and $149 against $159, all billed yearly. The regular plans are built for owners using the Wix Editor or Wix Harmony; Studio plans only work on Studio sites, and the other way round.

Is Wix Studio free?
You can build a Wix Studio site for free. To publish it on your own domain without Wix Studio branding, you need a Studio plan, starting with Basic at $12 a month, billed yearly.
Which Wix Studio plan do I need?
The cheapest plan that covers four things: whether you take payments, how many CMS items you have, how many people edit the site and how much media you store. Basic suits sites without payments; most small shops and booking sites need Standard.
Can Wix Studio Basic accept payments?
No. Basic sites can’t accept payments. Standard and higher plans can.
Does Wix Studio cost more than Wix?
Not on plan price. Each Studio plan is listed lower than the matching Wix plan: $12 against $17 at the entry level and $149 against $159 at the top. The bigger cost is usually the design work, since Studio sites are often built by a professional.
Does a Wix Studio plan include a free domain?
